Fostering is open to people from any background, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, culture, sexuality, gender identity, marital status, and the type of home they live in.

The main criteria for fostering is that you:
- Are 21 or over (there is no upper age limit)
- Have a spare bedroom in your home
- Are a UK citizen or have leave to remain in the UK
Did you know:
- You can foster and work, provided you are available to meet the needs of any children or young people you will be looking after
- You can foster if you have pets (as long as they are safe around children)
- You can foster if you have your own children living with you
- You can foster if you don’t have children of your own
